Although stylistically these pictures would appear to date from the early 19th century, the presence of what appears to be the Emperor fountain on the South Parterre at Chatsworth, which was designed by Joseph Paxton for the imminent arrival of Tsar Nicholas of Russia in 1843, would point to a slightly later date.
