A gold cigarette case by Fabergé
of rectangular design with rounded edges, the lid with applied Imperial Russian eagle set with rose-cut diamonds and old-brilliant-cut diamond single stone centre, with cabochon sapphire thumbpiece, the back of the case engraved in Russian,The most gracious present to the Senior Clerk of Private Commissions of the Governer of the Caucasus Nikoli Velinskii Livadia 9 December 1898, the interior with gold mark for St. Petersburg and workmaster's initials GN for Gabriel Sakarinpoika Niukkanen, small dent to bottom corner.

Further details
Gabriel Sakarinpoika Nuikkanen worked at 39 Kazanskaya Street between 1898 and 1912, he specialised in making gold and silver cigarette cases, which seldom bore Fabergé's hallmark. For a short time he was manager of Fabergé's workshop in Odessa.
