Lot Essay

From Carlisle, Harrington was a pupil of Abraham Cooper, and painted portraits of horses, cattle and poultry. Some of his works were engraved by C. Hunt and others lithographed by Thomas Fairland but all were published by the artist himself. He is noted for his particularly fine landscapes.
