The triple guttae foot on this side table is a motif popularised by Thomas Chippendale and appears in a drawing for 'Chinese Cabinet' which displays a fret-carved stand, illustrated in his The Gentleman & Cabinet-Maker's Director, third ed., 1762, pl. CXXIII.
