(Light spotting to two of the half-titles, and to map in vol. II, minor cracking to hinges, short tear to folding map of vol. I.) Original red cloth, gilt (slight surface soiling).

FIRST EDITION of the rare history of Antigua, this copy number 91 of a limited edition of 150 copies. Oliver was assisted by Vernona T. C. Smith, who transcribed relevant material from sources in London, whilst Oliver worked in the West Indies. The manuscript material compiled by Smith exists in forty-three volumes and is now housed at the Society of Genealogists, London. An important resource for the history of the West Indies. (3)
