FIRST EDITION, first issue, of a work that is almost certainly not by Barrington 'who had suffered with a deranged mind from 1800 until his death in 1804' (Wantrup). Wantrup also notes that both this work and its companion volume An Account of a Voyage to New South Wales were 'largely extracted, more or less verbatim, from David Collins's two-volume account [An Account of the English Colony in New South Wales (1798-1802)]'. Abbey Travel II,565; Ferguson I,345; cf. Tooley 80; Whittell 39; Wood p.222.
