Original purple cloth, paper label to spine, lettered /Dixon's/Voyage/to/N.S. Wale [sic.]/[double horizontal fillet]/Price 4s. Bds.', uncut (spine and edges of covers faded and slightly soiled, label rubbed with loss of one letter). Provenance: Robert Oswald (bookplate dated 1843).

FIRST EDITION: rare in original cloth. The author notes in the preface that this work 'was written entirely for the purpose of giving to the public, and those emigrating, the most recent and useful information, regarding the Colonies of Van Dieman's Land and New South Wales; - Countries which are rising every day in interest and importance, and which, at present, present an important field for emigration'.
