Original blind-stamped, ribbed light fawn cloth, spine with gilt-lettered title, author and publisher's imprint, (very slightly soiled, with small printed book label on paste-down). FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE, and first binding (?) of this rarity in bright, generally fine condition. Penzer p. 37-38, Casada 37.

[and two further copies of the First Edition:] A FIRST EDITION, SECOND ISSUE. blind-stamped pale blue cloth, gilt-lettered spine, a bright copy, (in the remainder binding with the plates re-arranged). [and:] A FIRST EDITION, SECOND ISSUE. Blind-stamped red cloth, spine and cover elaborately gilt, g.e., specially prepared as a Prize Binding, with binder's ticket, (signature cut from endpaper, frayed at head and foot, inner hinge broken).
