8° (222 x 150mm). Half-title, 33pp. of publisher's advertisements at end. Large folding map in pocket at back, hand-coloured in outline and with route marked in red. (Small tears to folds of map, occasional light marginal soiling, R4 and R5 somewhat crudely opened with loss to blank margin of R5.) Original cloth, blocked in gilt and blind (recased, some old soiling, inner hinges repaired, front free endpaper detached). Provenance: Mrs Forbes (Lochcote House, Aberdeenshire, author's presentation inscription 'To Mrs Forbes Lochcote House Bathgate with the affectionate regards of the Author J.A. Grant Dingwall 8 Dec 64')
