FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE WORK ON GRASSHOPPERS, CRICKETS, STICK INSECTS AND PRAYING MANTIS. Toussaint de Charpentier was 'Berghauptman' in Dortmund und Brieg and author of a number of works on mining, geology and entomology. The author had planned a larger work, but only finished the first 10 parts; the artwork for the remaining 40 plates had been completed and is now in the Zoological Museum at Konigsberg.
