GAUDIER-BRZESKA, Henri. Autograph letter signed to [John] Cournos, n.d., 27 December 1914, describing conditions at the front, 'You must have heard about my whereabouts from Ezra [Pound] ... The rain has stopped for several days & with it keeping the watch in a foot deep of liquid mud ... when you have turned to a warrior you become hardened to many evils', comparing the French army to 'the chinese bowmen in Ezra's poems', insisting 'the suffering is ... soon forgotten and we want the victory', and asking after 'the Kensington colony' and the Egoist, 4 pages, 8vo, in pencil, on a bifolium.
