Late 17th-/early 18th-century mottled calf gilt (front cover detached, some wear to joints and spines, endpapers renewed).
FIRST COLLECTED EDITION, presumed first state of the title reading "Witten" in line 9, "Witie" in line 11 and "vnparalelld" in line 13. "Although these plays had been separately published, the volume is of considerable importance because, for the first time, the lyrics which were omitted in the separate editions are included. However, it has been stated that these songs are not authentic" (Pforzheimer 635). Greg III, pp.1088-1089; STC 17088.
