EDWARD SOTHERN'S COPY OF 'HAMLET', a volume of Dent's "Temple Shakespeare" edition. The American actor, Edward Sothern, was renowned for his roles in romantic comedies, teamed with Julia Marlowe, as well as for his interpretations of Shakespeare. He played the lead in Hamlet ca. 1907. He was the son of English actor Edward Askew Sothern (1826-1881), best known for his performance as Lord Dundreary in Our American Cousin.
