Woodcut half-title illustration and 79 woodcut illustrations by and after Edward Gordon Craig, one printed in black and blue, another finished by hand in red. Original quarter cloth (light darkening to spine and edges), pocket on lower pastedown containing J. Dover Wilson's Notes on the Text of Shakespeare's Hamlet, 1604. Provenance: pencil note on pastedown, "This copy belongs to Laurence Irving."

LIMITED EDITION, number 193 of 300 copies, of a total edition of 322 on Maillol-Kessler hand-made paper. The English edition contains 6 additional woodcuts by Craig not present in the German edition of 1929.
