in the style of Sèvres, comprising twelve cups and twelve saucers, each painted with a different genre scene of peasants and nobility in 17th century dress at various leisurely pursuits including playing marbles, smoking pipes, dancing, feasting, carousing, playing croquet, playing cards, playing musical instruments, playing backgammon, toasting, drinking and embracing all within panels reserved on a pink-ground enriched in gilt with trophies suspended from swags and garlands, gilt retailer's marks and impressed maker's marks, 19th century (two cups with hairline cracks, one stained, slight wear)
