A dated Derby figure group of 'Commerce'
modelled as two putti, loosely draped, one seated on a bail and the other kneeling beside it, one counting out coins from a purse as the other tots them up on a slate, a scroll on the ground before them inscribed 1781, set on a pierced rectangular-section base with canted corners and four mask-moulded scroll supports, enriched in colours and gilt -- 7in. (17.6cm.), circa 1781
