Lot Essay

This photograph was originally in the collection of Daniel Masclet, a well-known photographer, who had assisted Baron Adolph de Meyer following World War I. Weston sent this print to him in 1949 for an exhibition Masclet had arranged on his behalf at the Place Vendôme in Paris.

This print was mounted by Masclet.
