A RARE FAMILLE ROSE MEISSEN-STYLE SOUP-PLATE
CIRCA 1740-50
Finely enamelled in a central shaped cartouche with a bare-breasted lady wearing a crown and holding a cornucopia of flowers reclining under a tree beside a sleeping lion and a child, the latter eating fruit, in the distance a large building in the throws of being constructed, within a gilt lacework band at the rim, rim frits retouched
8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) diam.
