Lot Essay

The dexter arms on the marriage plate are those of the Victor family of Amsterdam. The sinister arms have not yet been identified. For the arms on the dessert plate, see D. S. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, London, 1974, p. 475.

We are grateful to Dr. Jochem Kroes for helping us to identify the arms on the marriage plate.
