Decorated en grisaille at the centre with Aurora in her chariot drawn by two winged horses amongst clouds, the well with gilt spearheads and the border with four 'valentine-pattern' cartouches of love-birds beside an altar alternating with hounds beside a garlanded tree

Louis Binder Collection was sold in these Rooms, 17 June 2003, lot 142. A plate with this same central design, with the arms of Humbertson and dated to circa 1745, is illustrated by D. S.
