CAPTION::: Kim Basinger and Tammy the Asian Elephant Pat Derby and Elephant Kim Basinger The Performing Animal Welfare Society was founded in 1984 as a safe and humane home for abused, retired and surplus elephants, lions, bears and other captive wildlife. Former Hollywood animal trainer and author, Pat Derby, and co-founder, Ed Stewart, created two 130 acre sanctuaries in Northern California which provide the animals with a natural refuge. Currently, PAWS is constructing 2,300 acres of sanctuary in San Andreas, California. PAWS can continue the mission with the help and support of their generous donors. The following four lots being sold to benefit PAWS, were donated by the successful Hollywood actress, Kim Basinger. Thanks to Ms. Basinger's support, PAWS can continue to rescue animals and give them a peaceful and safe habitat.
