**AN ART DECO VANITY CASE, BY CARTIER
The gold oblong case decorated with white enamel stripes, enhanced by single-cut diamond trim, the old European-cut diamond pushpiece opening to reveal a cigarette compartment, an ivory writing pad, and two covered compartments, one lifting to a mirror, joined by gold and white enamel links to the single-cut diamond rondelles and milky chalcedony hoop, suspending a similar single-cut diamond rondelle to the seed pearl and single-cut diamond tassel, mounted in gold, (accompanied by part of the original Cartier case), circa 1915
