Rectangular, the cover, sides and base with chiseled flower border against a matte ground and engine-turned panels, the cover surround set with split pearls, the oval cover centering a rose bouquet set with cabochon turquoises and pearls, the back with hinged key compartment, the oval cover opening to a trellis-engraved field and hatch for the bird; with going-barrel jeweled movement, the movement marked FR in oval and numbered 165, also marked T. Ronacher, the hinged key compartment marked LG in lozenge three times using two punches, with French control marks, and marked 255, with key
