Lot Essay

It has been suggested that the present lot was bought directly from the artist by Mrs H. Brückmann-Kröller, daughter of the renowned collector Helene Kröller-Müller, founder of the Museum which bears her name. Around 1910 there was a lot of contact between the artist and and the Kröller family.
