CIRCA 1740, MARKED WITH UNDERGLAZE BLUE CROSSED SWORDS WITH DOTTED HILTS, PRESSNUMMER 8 TO THE FOOTRIM OF THE SAUCER
Painted in the manner of C.F. Herold with merchants at various pursuits at quaysides, the cup with two quatrefoil cartouches with a border of finely painted scrolls between double lines, the saucer with a cartouche en suite surrounded by Laub und Bandelwerk and purple and Eisenrot scrolls, the borders with Korbgeflecht or 'woven' Goldbordüre, the inside of the cup with a spray of Indianische Blumen (2)
