Of the Darmstaedter or the so-called Salami type, painted with a very intricate central red-ground floral medallion within two rings, surrounded by elaborate gilt scrolled ornaments enclosing rhomboid lozenges, the border reserved with four elongated quatrefoil cartouches probably painted by J.G. Höroldt with Orientals at various pursuits, the reverse with branches of Indianische Blumen and insects, the rim, footrim and reverse of the rim gilt (one small chip 0.7 cm. wide to the reverse of the rim)
