Of domed form with protruding nose-guard and moulded eyebrows, a decorative band of ovolo around the perimeter, with short everted rear flange, the cheekpieces bent outwards

Lot Essay

At the time of possible dedication in a temple the cheekpieces were bent outwards to render the helmet inoffensive in the sacred precinct.
