We are grateful to Mr. Ludwig Meyer for his assistance in cataloguing this lot. He has noted that it is stylistically close to the Meister des Sassenberg-Altares (see P. Pieper, Westfälischen Landesmuseum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte, Munich 1990, pp. 307-19).
