AN ARCHAIC GREEK BRONZE FIGURE OF ATHENA
LATE 6TH CENTURY B.C.
The finely modelled goddess wearing a Corinthian helmet, a chiton with elaborately engraved stitched border around the neck and hem of the garment, an aegis with a tooled fringed border and circular motifs, and soft pointed boots, standing with her left arm held out and to the side to hold spear (now missing), her hair falling in neat striated rectangular formation down her back
