A SPECTACULAR DIAMOND BRIOLETTE AND NATURAL FRESHWATER PEARL PENDANT NECKLACE
Set with a diamond briolette weighing 31.81 carats, to a cushion-shaped diamond surmount, suspended from a button-shaped freshwater pearl top measuring approximately 15.17 - 15.20 x 8.84 mm. and an oval-link neckchain, mounted in 18k white gold, 41.0 cm.
With report no. 12609378 dated 19 June 2003 from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamond briolette is D colour, flawless clarity, excellent polish, excellent symmetry
With report no. 0401019 dated 15 January 2004 from the Gübelin Gemmological Laboratory stating that the diamond briolette is D colour, flawless clarity. Also accompanied by an appendix stating that this remarkable diamond possesses a well-proportioned briolette form, which is complimented by the outstanding expertise conducted to finish the polish of the faceted gem. Deserving particular mention, this beautiful diamond displays a high degree of scintillation, which is uncommon for diamonds polished in the briolette fashion. The 31.81 carat diamond ... possesses a purity of colour and high degree of transparency which are particular to the world's finest natural colour type IIa diamonds. Diamonds of this type and size, exhibiting a superior quality, are very rare. Such diamonds have been unearthed from only a limited number of sources around the world (e.g. South Africa and India).
