A PAIR OF ORMOLU-MOUNTED SEVRES LATER DECORATED POT-POURRI VASES AND COVERS
THE SOFT PASTE PORCELAIN 18TH CENTURY, SPURIOUS BLUE INTERLACED'S L'S, DATE LETTER AND PAINTER'S MARK TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VASES, THE ORMOLU AND DECORATION PROBABLY ENGLISH CIRCA 1840
Each formed from a Seau à Bouteille and the cover to a Pot à Oille, the domed lid with fruit and leaf-cast finial above opposing painted floral cut-cornered reserves between acanthus vines and bellflower swags, the pierced gallery with leaf and bud-cast rim, above the body painted with a bouquets within a gilt wreath and floral clasps, flanked by acanthus-sheathed fluted volute arms and lion masks terminals, issuing grapevines with oak leaves, upon an acanthus-cast base with pomegranate-cast suspended finial, the four dolphin supporters over an incurved quadripartite base with panelled arched feet cast with grotesque masks to each side and berried acanthus pattera to each terminal, on leaf-cast tapering feet, printed paper retailer's label for 'Paul Siegel/808 Broadway/NYC' to inside of one mount, the feet originally further mounted
