In the manner of Jean-Henri Riesener, Last quarter 19th Century
The shaped rectangular top with a brass border and inset with a gilt-tooled brown leather writing surface, the shaped frieze centred by a long drawer with a relief panel depicting putti emblematic of the Arts and Sciences, flanked on each side by a shaped drawer applied with scrolled acanthus and swag drawer-pulls, the reverse similarly decorated, the sides with similar scrolled acanthus, each angle with a patera issuing acanthus chutes, supported on stop-fluted legs tapering to sabots, the locks engraved BAYLE & PIERRE/58. R. TROUSSEAU/PARIS
