SPURIOUS MARKS FOR SEVRES TO THE VASE, THE PORCELAIN 18TH CENTURY, THE STAND UNMARKED AND OF LATER DATE, THE DECORATION OF BOTH CIRCA 1835 AND LIKELY ENGLISH
Modelled after a Sèvres "Vase Hollandois", the front painted with putti as musicians in a bower of clouds, the reverse with fruit and flowers, each reserved on the turquoise ground within a gilt rocaille cartouche, the mouth with foliate scrolls and flowers edging a turquoise band, the top of the rim gilt with beads; the conforming serpentine oval base of later date and in a variant paste, pierced at the shoulder with four cartouches, panels of flowers reserved on the side below
