SPURIOUS BLUE INTERLACED L'S MARK, SIGNED EUG. POITEVIN 1790, CIRCA 1890
With acanthus-moulded domed cover and cone finial, the fluted neck moulded with harebells and enriched with raised gilt leaf tips, the body painted with a continuous scene of a classical maiden standing before a flaming altar to Love attended by putti string garlands and arranging her hair, the reverse with further putti in flight, the socle associated, enriched with finely chased flat gilt scrollwork and a berried vine, on a beaded ring and canted square base
