One with central deep brown lustre painted panel depicting a spotted howling hound amongst floral sprays, in a border of cursory inscription on a cobalt-blue ground between plain stripes, the other with a central pale lustre panel depicting a man in his tent within a similar inscription border, both intact

Lot Essay

The tile with a central hound has border inscriptions comprising two benedictory couplets in Persian
The other tile has, above the tent, a part of a benedictory Persian couplet, and, in the margins, verses from the Shahnama.
