This painting on stucco was probably made for the niche of an interior of a house. It has been substantially repainted, particularly the faces, but the original composition remains; this is reminiscent of a Safavid miniature painting, with the main events happening in the mid-section, but further narrative observable in the background and foreground.
The entrance to the bazaar in Isfahan has similar wall paintings, on a huge scale (Sims, E.: Peerless images, Persian painting and its sources, Yale, 2002, fig.83, p.76).
