A QAJAR ENGRAVED WATERED STEEL QALIAN BASE
Iran, MID 19TH CENTURY
Of accentuated inverted drop-shape with faceted pointed lower terminal, a tubular aperture set on the shoulder, the sides very finely engraved with a band of six oval panels each finely engraved with dense flowering vine together with birds within gold damascened beaded frames, shaped gold damascened floral cartouches above and below, the lower terminal with gold facets, very slight corrosion, minute repair to base of inlet socket
