The Persian inscription states that His Majesty (Nasir al-Din Shah) painted a part of the Royal Garden in Sari and gave it to the owner (unnamed) at a party given by Mahd 'Ulya on 10 Rabi' I 1283.
Mahd 'Ulya was the title of the mother of Nasir al-Din Shah, Malik Jahan Khanum (d. AH 1290/1873-4 AD).
