The inscription on the larger textiel reads: "In the name of The King, The Compassionate, The Merciful. Al-Fadl Muti' li'llah, the Commander of the Faithful [May God] strengthen him"
This refers to al-Muti', the Abbasid Caliph (334-63/949-74)

The inscription on the second smaller fragment translates " ... for the affairs ...(?)"
