FRANCO-FIORINA
Previously a grower supplying grapes to the then dominant co-op trade, 1947 marked the first vintage where Franco-Fiorina bottled under their own name. These wines hail from the "traditionalist" school of thought where by several years in bottle are required to the tame the harsh Nebbiolo tannin. With age these wines have more in common with old burgundy than anything else, yet they retain a distinct Italian personality.
