NORTH EAST PERSIA, 17TH AND 18TH CENTURY
A field fragment with a burgundy ground partially displaying a floral spray with palmettes, flowerheads and scrolling leaves, areas of wear, two sides secured to prevent further fraying, and a border fragment with an indigo ground of polychrome flowerheads linked by scrolling leafy vine between celadon-green split palmette and serrated leaf vine stripes, overall wear, backed with a hanging pole at one end
