Half title, 7 etched plates by Cruikshank. (Lower fore-corner of a few plates waterstained.) Later 19th-century polished calf gilt (spine rubbed, upper cover detached). FIRST EDITION of this "very interesting account of several months' visit, written in a lively style. Nothing seems too trivial for the author's notice; he gives detailed descriptions of costume and all sorts of manufactures including jewellery, skills, perfumes etc." (Blackmer). Blackmer 56.
