Lot Essay

Cecilia Margaret Nairn was the daughter of John Henry Campbell (1757-1828) and married the horse painter George Nairn in 1826. She was taught to paint by her father and there are strong stylistic resemblances. For examples of J.H. Campbell's work see lots 1 and 2.
