Lot Essay

The earliest Irish newspapers were published towards the close of the seventeenth century, however, it was not until the mid-eighteenth century that they began to to carry information about local births, deaths and marriages. Faulkner's Dublin Journal was founded in 1725 and continued until 1825 when it was incorporated into the Irish times.
