A collection of 14 petty cash receipts concerning expenses incurred during the Ziggy Stardust tour of U.S.A., 22nd September - 2nd December, 1972, signed by various people involved in the tour, including: Bowie's first wife Angie, photographers Mick Rock and Lee Childers, guitarist Mick Ronson, bassist Trevor Bolder, drummer Michael Woodmansey, Bowie's personal hairdresser Sue Fussey, publicist Dai Davies, manager Tony DeFries, PR Cherry Vanilla, U.S. manager/Mainman President Tony Zanetta [Zee], bodyguard Stuart George and roadie Peter Hunsley; and a petty cash receipt signed by David Bowie whilst on holiday in Rome in 1973, largest -- 4x5in. The Ziggy Stardust U.S. tour was David Bowie's first in the U.S. Financed by R.C.A. Records, it was a huge commercial operation, involving a large entourage of publicists, photographers, bodyguards and roadies. It proved to be a great success and with the lavish theatrical stage shows, Bowie became the only glam rocker to carve out a niche in the U.S.
