Valjoux 88, with gilt-finished fully jewelled lever movement, Glucydur balance, metal dust cap, the silvered matt dial with Arabic and dot numerals, outer ring calibrated for date with central date hand, two windows for day and month, two engine-turned subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minutes register, aperture for phases of the moon combined with 12 hours register, in circular water-resistant-type case with screw back, downturned lugs, two round chronograph buttons in the band, dial and movement signed
36 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

This watch was made by R. Guye, the son of Henri Guye, a renowned precision adjuster at Zenith and Movado before becoming the director of the Technicum at La Chaux-de-Fonds.

It was most probably the watch he presented when graduating from the famous horological school in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
