With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the white matt dial with baton numerals, in rectangular case with winding crown to the back, set within the book-form outer case with semicircular ribbed engine-turned spine, engine-turned lozenge and dot decoration to the hinged front and back jackets, revealing the watch when opened, ribbed front and sides simulating the pages, case stamped JC, London date letter for 1954 and Cartier hand-stamped reference number, dial signed Cartier London, movement signed EWC
