Cal. 19/20", with nickel-finished fully jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, cam-wheel regulator, wolf's tooth winding, glazed dust cover, the white enamel regulator-style dial with outer ring calibrated for black Arabic five minute divisions, central blued steel minute hand, small hour dial with black Roman numerals and blued steel spade hand to 12 o'clock, subsidiary seconds dial, in custom-made American plain circular case with engraved inscription Jack Ripley New York City to the inside back cover, coin-edged band, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming the production of the present movement and dial in 1893 and subsequent sale on 18 May 1894. It furthermore states that the movement was designed to have the hour indication at 12 o'clock and that the case was supplied by the customer.

Patek Philippe watches featuring a regulator dial are very rare. The arrangement of the subsidiary dials horizontally or vertically, both hour and minute hand in the small hour dial or, as common for watches with regulator dials, with central minute hand, can vary from one watch to another.
