A Ghaznavid or Ghurid turquoise glazed pottery mihrab tile, Afghannistan, 12th century
of rectangular form, moulded under the plain glaze with a central circular pendant mosque lamp on a ground of scrolling leaves, set in an arch surrounded by further scrolls -- 10 5/8in. (27cm.) high.
