A large Cantonese bowl and dish made for Zill-I Sultan, dated AH 1297/1879-80 AD
the deep bowl decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt with shaped cartouches depicting figures in garden scenes and birds amongst flowers, within geometric bands and floral grounds, the exterior with similar decoration with two roundels with nast'liq, the dish with similar decoration and central calligraphic roundel -- the bowl 14½in. (36.8cm.); the dish 13¾in. (35cm.) diam.
